WIOA TRAILBLAZER AWARD

The WIOA Trailblazer Award honors a workforce development board that has been a leader in adopting the changes envisioned in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Pinal County Workforce Development Board is the winner of the WIOA Trailblazer Award for its continual assessment, alignment, and advancement of core workforce development services, which has maximized the community impact of the WDB’s work, producing entirely new training, recruiting, and career opportunities for workers and employers in Pinal County.

W.O. LAWTON AWARD

The W.O. Lawton Business Leadership Award honors businesses and business organizations that have made the commitment of time, money, and leadership to make their community’s workforce and economy more vibrant. Athena Manufacturing is the winner of the W.O. Lawton Award for its dedicated engagement in training frontline manufacturing talent, in concert with Workforce Solutions Capital Area and Austin-area education and training providers.

LAURIE MORAN PARTNERSHIP AWARD

The Laurie Moran Award is given jointly to a workforce development board and local or regional chamber of commerce that have formed a significant partnership to advance the workforce and economic development of their local region. Philadelphia Works is the winner of the Laurie Moran Partnership Award for its work with the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Philadelphia on projects like the Life Sciences Talent Collaborative, which has trained and placed new talent with dozens of employers in Philadelphia’s thriving life sciences industry.

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT BOARD - COMMUNITY COLLEGE EXCELLENCE IN PARTNERSHIP AWARD

The Workforce Development Board - Community College Excellence In Partnership Award is given jointly to a workforce development board and community college that have formed a significant partnership to advance training opportunities for workers in their local region. Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas is the winner of the Excellence in Community College Partnership Award for its ongoing integration of education and workforce services with Dallas College, consisting of countless partnerships to provide adult education and literacy, childcare, training, and career services to thousands of job seekers.
